Motorway Control Centre-Project Win
Kapitol is proud to be delivering the Motorway Control Centre (MCC) as part of the North East Link – Victoria’s largest road infrastructure project.
Kapitol were thrilled to take part in a tour and panel discussion of our recently completed Morris Moor Building 4 project in Moorabin for Up Property as part of Melbourne Design Week.
Starting off with a tour of building 4’s 17,000 sqm of new offices, warehousing, and hospitality venues, attendees were able to see first-hand the transformation of the mid-century Phillip Morris factory site into a zero-carbon commercial development which saved 19 million kilos of embodied carbon during construction!
This was followed by a panel discussion featuring our client Marcus Jankie of Up Property, architect Gaston Nogues of ClarkeHopkinsClarke, Kapitol Project Manager Jamie Kerr, and Morris Moor tenant and local resident Annalisa France from Air Aroma International.
When reflecting on the project, Jamie Kerr shared on the panel:
“The close collaboration that’s required on an adaptive re-use project is one of the things that makes it worthwhile coming to work. Because you’re working on an existing structure, you’re constantly having to work together to find solutions to challenges that arise. I think that’s what makes adaptive re-use interesting and special as a builder – it’s not run of the mill.”
