As part of our commitment to our Reconciliation Action Plan, our Lindrum and Waterside project teams recently took part in a guided Birrarung Wilam Walk with the Koorie Heritage Trust. Starting at Federation Square and winding along the Birrarung Wilam Aboriginal art installations, this walk offered a unique opportunity to learn about the history of the Birrarung (the traditional name of the Yarra River) and the rich heritage of the Kulin Nation.
The walk along Birrarung Marr allowed us to reflect on the traditional lands of south-eastern Australia, gaining a deeper understanding of Naarm’s cultural landscape. This experience reinforces the importance of acknowledging how the land has changed over time and our role in respecting its significance as we continue our work here.
