Kapitol was proud to be appointed as Head Contractor for the transformative redevelopment of the Waterside Hotel, a cherished landmark on the corner of King Street and Flinders Street in Melbourne’s CBD. Originally built in 1853, the well-preserved Victorian-era façade has been carefully retained and restored, bringing together heritage and contemporary design.
Led by leading hospitality group Sand Hill Road, the project has elevated the Waterside Hotel with a new basement and six-storey addition, enhancing both functionality and experience. The basement now accommodates essential amenities, while the ground floor has been reimagined as a vibrant social hub featuring a beer garden, public bar, and bistro. Above, the venue offers a flexible function space, rooftop bar with sweeping views, a refined cocktail bar, and landscaped terraces.
