AFR Article | Lower migration ‘not the answer’

In an Australian Financial Review article by Euan Black, Kapitol’s Director David Caputo explains that he doesn’t have an issue with Mr Dutton’s migration cuts so long as enough skilled trades were brought into the country to help build more homes.

“I haven’t heard of any PR or marketing strategy to try and take on Canada and those countries that are really soaking up the English-as-a-first-language skilled people out there,” Mr Caputo said, adding that the government’s $10,000 payments for apprentices who work in the renewables sector could pull even more workers away from the home-building industry,
