During Reconciliation Week, we’re reflecting on what reconciliation means to us at Kapitol. Our RAP members share their thoughts on how we can collaborate, strengthen our understanding, and learn from the rich perspectives of Indigenous culture and history. NRW represents the success of the 1967 referendum whereby basic rights were provided to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples including the right to vote, and the high court Mabo decision to acknowledge traditional ownership of land.
Reconciliation Week is a time to address the unfinished business of reconciliation. By acknowledging past wrongs and sharing the meaning and history of reconciliation, we aim to build a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
